The Statue of Liberty

Friday, 27th of January:

Today we made a trip to the Statue of Liberty! No, I´m not joking, but as you probably expected we hadn´t traveled to New York City. We were in Cenicero!

Did you know that there are three Statues of Liberty in Spain? One of them you can find in Cenicero. Cenicero is a small village near to Logroño with about 2000 inhabitants. It´s a calm village with almost no sights, except for some wine bodegas and the Statue of Liberty. In 1897 this monument was raised to remember the heroes who fought in the Carlist Wars. Last year Cenicero celebrated the 125th anniversary of the litte copy of the American original.
