This morning started in a pretty usual way. I woke up at 7:30, got ready and had breakfast with my host family. We left the house together around 8:10. School here starts half an hour later than in Germany and lessons last 50 minutes. First we had *Lengua Castellana y Literatura,* which in Germany would be comparable to „German“. After that, we had *Musica,* which is much more focused on practical activities than at home, such as playing the ukulele or xylophone. Then we had *Educación Física* (EP), where a group of students introduced us to Dutch Ball.
After the first three lessons, we had our first and only break, during which the students can leave the school and have lunch outside. Today the weather was beautiful, so we sat in a small park to eat and enjoy the sunshine. When we got back to school, I had two library lessons to catch up on my work from Germany. Our last lesson was Philosophy, after which we went home with some other friends who live on the same road. Lunch that day was especially delicious – we had the typical Spanish omelette, made with potatoes and eggs.
At around 6.30pm, after a break, I met up with my friend from Germany and her exchange student to go to an escape room. It was a lot of fun and we managed to complete most of the tasks without needing extensive Spanish skills. We also weren’t allowed to take our mobile phones, which made some of the questions harder to answer. At the end of the day, we met up with some other friends of our exchange students in the city centre. We had dinner in a small bar and talked a lot.
It was a great day and I’m really enjoying my time in Spain.
