Making friends also works outside of school

I’ve been playing football at home for years and I didn’t want to give it up during my three months here. I talked to my host father and I’m very grateful to him for making sure I could play football. I was a bit scared before the first training session because I didn’t know the team and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to communicate with them. But the girls treated me like a member of the team from the start and the coach was really nice too. Many of my team-mates and the coach don’t speak English very well, but we always found a way to communicate. The exercises were always translated for me and if I made a mistake it wasn’t a problem. As time went on I got to talk to the girls more and more and we became friends. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to play football with them and to make contacts outside of school. The last practise was really emotional and i will miss them a lot.
