First time in Paris!

17 Mrz, 2024

My first week was quite stressful but also exciting. Everything is so much different here. School starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. The students are checked for their student ID cards in the morning so that they can enter the school. My host family is really nice. My exchange student, Charlotte hast two brothers: Alexandre and Antoine. They have a dog, named Simba.
They play a lot of bord games with me. I go to judo twice a week with Charlotte. We have dinner very late in the evening, at least later than in Germany.
Saturday was my rest day. At first there was a fantastic French breakfast. Afterwards, I played a lot of board games with Charlotte’s siblings. In the afternoon we all went bowling. I lost : ) But it was still fun. In the evening we played laser tag. That was nice too.
Sunday was a long day. We visited Paris for the first time. We saw the Tower L’Arc de Triomphe with the Flame du soldat inconnu. This unknown soldier died under The L’Arc de Triomphe. The flame burns in honor of him. From there we walked along the avenue des Champs Elyssées. We visited the Petit Palais. Unfortunately the Grand Palais is beig renovated so we couldn’t go inside. We went to the bridge Le Pont Alexandre III and visited the museum Les Invalides. We saw as well the statue of General de Gaule. Afterwards we had some lunch. After lunch we went to the Jardin des Tuileries. Later we also saw the Luvre but didn’t go in. That is scheduled for another day. In the end we went tot he quartier des Halles and we also saw the cathedral Notre Dame, the university La Sorbonne and the Eiffel Tower, but only from far away. We are going up next weekend.
