My first sightseeing tour through Paris

3 Feb., 2026

A few days ago, we visited Paris. To have enough time for the tour, we had to leave at 8:10 a.m.. First, we took the car to get to the train station. After taking the train, we boarded the subway at Paris Est. The first attraction we saw after leaving the subway station was the Eiffel Tower. It was so immense! To get near the Eiffel Tower, we had to cross the river Seine. The Eiffel tower and le Champ de Mars were now in front of us. Opposite there was the military academy. After a short walk, we saw l’Hôtel des Invalides. Additionally, we crossed the bridge „Pont Alexandre III“ to get to the „Grand Palais“ and to the „Petit Palais“. We also passed a big boulevard called „L’Avenue des Champs-Élysées“. After a while, we arrived at the „Place de la Concorde“ with its large Egyptian obelisk. Furthermore, we reached a park called „Le jardin des Tuileries“, at the end of which there was the Louvre. It was huge! There were glass pyramids in the middle of the square surrounded by the building.

dFurthermore, we passed by an old church called „L’église Saint-Germain Auxerrois“ and, after crossing another bridge, we were on an island in the river Seine,  „l’île Saint-Louis“, not far from the famous cathedral „Notre Dame“. It was sooo huge! Notre Dame is still under reconstruction, but you can already visit its interior space. Luckily, we were able to get tickets so we were able to see it from the inside as well. The interior space has already been reconstructed. Nothing reminds of the fire of 2019. It was beautiful!

After leaving the cathedral, fortunately, there was a subway station nearby. So we didn’t have to walk a lot. After arriving at the station, we took a train to get home. Eventually, we drove home by car. Once there, we ate quiche with carrot salad and watched a James Bond movie with French subtitles.
